This course is for anyone who works in the affordable housing industry. It is especially helpful for new affordable housers, people who feel very siloed in their work, those who have worked in the industry a long time and need to get back to the big picture, board members, government leaders who make decisions on affordable housing in their communities, or anyone with a passion for affordable housing who wants a good foundation for impactful conversations.

You'll learn about the 3 main affordable housing programs for renters—Public Housing, Section 8 Vouchers, and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit. Neal covers basic history, how each program started, challenges and advantages of the programs, and how they interrelate. You'll also learn key concepts that are foundational to understanding how the programs work.
